
This photo was taken by my dad middle of December--just over one year ago. It's not the prettiest of sights, but it was what we were dealing with not that long ago. We tried to salvage as much of the "foundation" as possible. There was a lot of usable tongue and groove fir, some rough cut 2 x 4's and 2 x 6's, and a few heavy duty sill timbers. But we couldn't save it all; during the process we found a large colony of carpenter ants pretty much making sawdust of the part you can see in the extreme foreground of this photo. You can see the smoke rising from a burn pile off to the right, outside the frame. What a journey it was...and still is.
