Beaver Lake Is All Thawed Out!

We've been to the lake three times over the last week. Beaver, that is. Last Friday night there was ice enough that a person couldn't even cast a line out. Then Sunday, it was open enough to take a boat out a ways and troll the edge. Bodie, Emmet, Nicholas, Korin and I didn't take the boat, though. We just fished from shore for a few hours until dark. Emmet caught one and Nicholas caught two. Poor Korin was disappointed, but she had fun anyway. Then, on Tuesday evening, Korin, Olivia, Bodie and I hit the lake again (under the auspices of collecting lake water and mud for my science classes). There was only a little bit of ice along the far edge of the lake. We only took one rod. But Korin managed to will a fish to take her bait and she reeled it in, doggedly. What a resilient, persistent little cus! Below is a photo Bodie snapped of Nicholas' Brookie. Measured out at fourteen inches!
