self-efficacy

I honestly have no idea what this term means, and it was the first thing that came to my mind as I stared at the "create posting" template...so what's a guy to do but follow up on his misinformed proclivities...(this is the worst part of being a poser--having no idea what the big words I use mean). So as far as I can tell, after "researching" on Google for about as long as it takes google to come up with 5.29 million related websites, self-efficacy means just about anything you want it to, but mostly it seems to revolve around the social sciences--psychology and such. And I'll admit, sociology and psychology are interesting subjects to me, as a fiction writer (theoretically), and as an English teacher. So, don't test me tomorrow, but I think I just fixed one of my flaws...now on to misinformed proclivities...
