wind drifts

How are things on the western front?

Here in my niche there are below freezing temps and skin cells dying before ever seeing the sun...I think this is tragic, if not in a traditional, romantic sense, at least cellularly it is pretty sad. Which might explain why my hands and arms and face appear so dry and flakey, because, as if there was some cellular expectation of the skin cells of these various locales...as if they may have been ingrained with some happy expectation that they will see the sun, feel it penetrate to their nucleus. But, when they don't, they become depressed, lose their pigment and cling lifelessly to their last hope, the outermost layer of the epidermis--the stratum corneum--waiting to be brushed off, against a pant leg, furniture upholstery or other...ie, a lover's caress, etc.

the hope of spring...please come
